Emil Vodder Technique

Lymphatic drainage is a surface massage using very gentle, basic manipulation and pressing for a good result. The movements are slow, light, painless, relaxing and repetitive. They foster lymph flow and very thin vessels that seem transparent. They relieve oedema, inflammation and organic liquid retention in the tissues, muscles and ganglia.

Improved general health: the lymphatic system collaborates with the immune system. The lymphatic system helps maintain tissue homeostasis and is an accessory means for liquid to reach the blood. The lymph carries the remaining liquid, which contains waste products like fat, toxins, proteins, cells, etc., to the circulatory system for elimination. While the blood circulatory system is a closed circuit, the lymphatic system is open.

Oedema and liquid retention occur when the lymphatic system does not eliminate this waste and these products remain.  With MLD (manual lymphatic drainage), we stimulate the lymph nodes and cleanse the affected areas.

The nervous system also improves: anti-stress as it works the parasympathetic system (the nervous system that controls involuntary actions and functions).

MLD totally relaxes the nervous system to help recover balance, power and wellness.

These treatments are also ideal for pre- and post-operative patients.
